Microneedling Intake & Consent Forms
Description Of The Treatment
Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), Skin Needling, Or Microchanneling, is a skin rejuvenation technique utilizing a sterile device equipped with fine needles. Slender needles gently penetrate beneath the skin's surface, creating micro-wounds and micro-injuries. These microscopic wounds trigger the body's innate defense mechanisms, prompting the production of new skin cells, capillaries, and collagen for the purpose of repairing the damage. The natural restorative process results in a more youthful appearance due to the increased collagen synthesis.

Days 1-3 | Microneedling Healing
It is normal to experience a sunburn-like effect after microneedling. The skin may feel tight, dry, or sensitive to touch. Gently cleanse the skin using a mild cleanser, cool water, and pat to dry no sooner than 4 hours post-treatment. It is best to avoid cleansing and other skincare products for the first 12 hours. Temporary swelling may occur for 2-4 days.
Days 2-7 | Microneedling Healing
Peeling may commence 3-5 days post-treatment, accompanied by skin dryness and flaking due to increased skin cell turnover. Avoid picking, scratching, or scrubbing the treated skin during this period.
Days 5-7 | Microneedling Healing
Once the skin no longer feels irritated, you may resume using your regular skincare products. For optimal results, it is recommended to undergo follow-up microneedling treatments every 4 weeks, with a series of 3-6 sessions based on your personalized treatment plan.
Days 1-3 | Microneedling Phase: Inflammation
Piercing the epidermal tissue activates inflammation, where platelets release growth factors signaling the body's immune system. White blood cells are dispatched to disinfect wounds, clear debris, enhance blood supply, and initiate the formation of fresh, rejuvenated skin.
Days 3-5 | Microneedling Phase: Proliferation
During this phase, fibroblasts, keratinocytes, and epidermal cells continue to divide, populating damaged areas. They secrete growth factors that contribute to the deposition of new tissue, further fortifying the skin.
Days 6-30 | Microneedling Phase: Remodeling
Fibroblasts responsible for collagen and elastin production proliferate within the puncture wounds created by microneedles. Collagen in the newly formed tissue is replaced with even more robust collagen, resulting in a skin texture that is both youthful and firm, yet supple.
Common Questions & Answers
What Is The Expected Recovery Time?
The recovery period typically spans no more than 7 days, with most clients experiencing noticeable improvement within 3-4 days. Immediately after the treatment, the skin may exhibit rednesss similar to a sunburn. It is common to observe a slightly puffy facial appearance or minor bruising on the first day. Over the initial 3-5 days, the skin may feel dry and tight. By days 4-6, any swelling is minimal, and bruises are fading. Slight flaking is a common occurence during this phase. By day 7, visible signs of the procedure are minimal.
When Will Results Be Evident?
Clients typically notice some improvement within a week post-treatment, with more pronounced results manifesting over the next 3-4 weeks. Long-term benefits become more apparent 3-6 months after the treatment, allowing sufficient time for collagen synthesis.
How Frequently Should Microneedling Be Done?
Microneedling sessions should not be scheduled more frequently than every 30 days. The number of treatments depends on the severity of the skin condition being addressed, with 6 sessions recommended for acne scars and anti-aging treatments. Results are highly individual, making it challenging to predict outcomes after a single treatment.
